ASUS UX21E series Elan touchpad is registered as Smart-Pad. In addition to ordinary mouse key operations, it also provides a series of practical functions to improve user efficiency. One of the main functions is the multi-finger touch function.
1.) Button
Instructions
Like all other standard notebook touchpads, the Smart-Pad has double-clickable buttons that function like any other ordinary mouse buttons. These buttons can also be reconfigured via drop-down combo boxes to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Left button
The default function is click/select, other available functions include maximize, page down, run, etc.
Right button
The default function is the context menu. Other available functions are maximize, page down, and run.
To change the default function of a particular button, simply click the drop-down menu adjacent to it and select the new function.
2.) Tap
Description
Smart-Pad can perform fingertip movement or operation detection and simulate all existing mouse button operations and other functions to enhance document editing functions.
Single-finger (tap)
A single-finger tap always performs the point/click/select function, just like a left mouse button click .
Two-finger
By default, the two-finger tap operation is set to simulate the function of the mouse wheel, which is the middle button. Other available functions are maximize, page down, and run.
Three-finger
By default, the three-finger tap operation is set to simulate the function of the right mouse button. Other available functions are maximize, page down, and run.
Customized two-finger/three-finger tap functionality
Two-finger and three-finger taps can be reconfigured to perform other tasks. Click the down arrow to select a new task.
3.)Scroll
Instructions
Drag two fingertips across the ELAN Smart-Pad to scroll the window vertically or horizontally. This feature works through scrollable windows in most software, such as Word/image processors, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. It can also be used to scroll long lists of items such as file lists. The two-finger scroll feature provides a simple and convenient way to scroll windows.
Two-finger scrolling
This can be done by dragging your fingertips on the ELAN Smart-Pad. Just tap the touchpad and drag the opening you want to scroll, drag up or down to perform vertical scrolling. You can also drag left or right to scroll horizontally.
Vertical scrolling
Click this checkbox to enable vertical scrolling.
Horizontal Scroll
Click this checkbox to enable horizontal scrolling.
Two-finger auto-scroll
Activate this feature by moving two fingers on the ELAN Smart-Pad. Simply move two fingers quickly in any direction and the auto-scroll feature will keep scrolling even after your fingers lift off the touchpad. To stop automatic scrolling, tap the touchpad with any finger.

Move the slider horizontally to set the scroll speed.

The scroll speed slider is only available when vertical scrolling and horizontal scrolling are enabled.
4.) Drag and drop settings

Instructions
Smart-Pad also provides a drag-and-drop function, similar to the click-and-hold function using the left mouse button. By tapping the touchpad twice, without removing your fingertip from the touchpad, point the pointer at the object you want to drag.
Release the selected object after your finger leaves the screen

Automatically release the selected object after the predefined time.
Delay Time
Move the slider to define a new delay time.

5.) Palm measurement

Description
The palm measurement function can prevent Smar execution due to accidental contact.t-Pad operation. Palm measurement enables the Smart-Pad to identify and ignore accidental contacts, such as palms resting on the trackpad or palms touching the trackpad surface while typing. This helps prevent spontaneous pointer movements or clicks.
Adjust Palm Measurement
If there is unexpected pointer movement or click operation on the Smart-Pad, please increase the palm measurement sensitivity setting by: Move the slider to the right (towards the highest), but not to the point of normal touch desensitization. If the Smart-Pad does not respond to normal touches, please lower the palm measurement sensitivity setting by moving the slider to the left (to the lowest level).
Troubleshooting
If the function does not work effectively, please conduct the following verification.
Select the corresponding function icon (highlighted) on the vertical control bar.
Select the "Enable" checkbox (enabled status).
